Cathartic soul-bearing space prog masterwork. Stereogum premiere.
still love is Ghost Against Ghost's most nakedly human work — a concept album written in the aftermath of a shattering divorce, tracing love, betrayal, and loss from the perspective of the wronged. Christopher Bono composed the album's nine movements on a Dave Smith Prophet 12 synthesizer, building a sound world that expands from intimate grief into something approaching cathedral scale. Thomas Pridgen (The Mars Volta, Suicidal Tendencies) plays drums. Gareth Jones — whose production archive spans Depeche Mode to Mogwai — handled mixing at Strongroom Studio, London. Anthony Molina (Mercury Rev, White Light Production) led pre-production in upstate New York. The album premiered on Stereogum and earned a rare sustained review from Prog Magazine: "Cathartic soul-bearing space prog masterwork."
