Nous Alpha's debut album. A six-day sonic ritual at OSC's Apollo 37 barn studio, guided by the I Ching. Every piece performed live in the room with no digital editing.
In the spring of 2018, legendary electronic producer Gareth Jones (Depeche Mode, Grizzly Bear, Can, Erasure) and composer Christopher Bono (Bardo, Ghost Against Ghost, NOUS) set an intention to consecrate the new Our Silent Canvas Apollo 37 barn studio in upstate NY through a personalized sonic ritual lasting the course of 6 days. Following the NOUS project ethos that explores improvisation through collaboration, the resultant album from Nous Alpha — entitled Without Falsehood — displays a diverse set of organic, inspired soundscapes forged by friendship and a commitment to doing every moment of performance and production always together in the same room. The project was guided by meditations and consultations of the I Ching and features a lovely blend of contemporary sound art pieces alongside ambient and mixed electronic soundscapes. Every piece was performed live in the room with no digital editing or sampling.
